I use this with every new plane I buy (even BNF)
It allows you to change everything on your receiver, it’s especially helpful for adding 3 flight modes to BNF planes and allowing you to change the way the plane handles to your requirements. This along with the Spektrum Tx/Rx Bluetooth programming module P-SPMBT1000 are great tools and and should be in everyone’s tool kit. The Bluetooth module P-SPMBT1000 allows further tweaks down the field so you don’t need to go home to plug the receiver back into your computer.

I'd read so many bad reviews about programming the DXe and the extra cost of this cable and terrible software that I felt doomed when I had no option but to buy this cable to set up my open stock DXe to use with my Blade 230s.
I watched a vid on YouTube which explained step by step what to do. I followed all the instructions and although complicated (never could do it without watching the vid first), it all went really smoothly. I then programmed my old bnf DXe to use with my blade nano.
All the bad reviews you'll find are due to lack of knowledge, not down to the cable.
And....thanks to Raj at Align-trex for getting it to me the next day.
All in all, it's not a cheap addition but essential if you need to re-program you tx to another aircraft.
