RC Helicopter Kits

A kit arrives unassembled - no radio, and often no motor or ESC either, depending on the build level. You supply the electronics and build the machine yourself, which costs more time but means you understand every part of it before you ever fly.

What we stock

Align T-Rex makes up most of this page, across the whole size range - 150, 300X, 470, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, 760 and the nitro TN70, in basic kit, combo and super combo forms. XLPower and Tron supply competition-grade kits at 550 and 700 class.

Build levels explained

Basic kit - the airframe only. You source every electronic component yourself.

Combo / super combo - the airframe plus motor, ESC and sometimes servos, so there is less to buy separately. Still no radio or receiver.

ARTF - almost ready to fly, with most of the electronics fitted, needing only a radio bound and set up.

Is a kit right for you?

If this is your first helicopter, an RTF machine is the easier start. A kit suits someone who already flies, wants to choose their own electronics, or is stepping up to a specific size and build quality that RTF does not offer at that level.
