E-flite Opterra 2.0m FPV RC Flying Wing BNF Basic - EFL11150

Description

The E-flite Opterra 2m is a large foam flying wing with a 1989 mm wingspan, supplied here as the original BNF Basic version (EFL11150) with a Spektrum AS3X receiver, brushless motor and digital metal-geared servos already installed. Just bind it to a full-range Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 transmitter and add a 3S LiPo and charger.

The wing was designed by George Hicks and Mike McConville and uses carbon-reinforced, hollow-core Z-Foam construction with vortex generators to help it behave well at low speed. It covers everything from gentle soaring and sport aerobatics to FPV flying, and the plug-in wing panels and winglets are held with thumbscrews, so it breaks down in minutes for transport. It suits pilots with some experience who want a versatile wing for sport and FPV flying.

For FPV and video work there are multiple camera stations: forward-facing mounts in an alternative nose and a downward-looking bay in the belly sized for GoPro Hero 3, Hero 4 and similar HD cameras, so you can fly FPV and record HD footage at the same time. A brushless motor with a folding propeller lets it climb away and then glide cleanly with the motor off. The AS3X receiver smooths out wind and turbulence, and SAFE Select can be enabled for bank and pitch limits with self-levelling.
