High speed RC cars: the Arrma Limitless and Traxxas XO-1.
RC F1 and High Speed Cars
If you are after outright top speed rather than lap times, this is the page. These are the fastest cars we sell - purpose-built speed machines that run on long, smooth tarmac and are measured with a radar gun rather than a stopwatch. Worth saying plainly up front: we do not currently stock scale Formula One replicas. What we do stock is the class that actually goes quickest.
Arrma Limitless
The Limitless is a 1/7 scale 8S speed-run car and the quickest thing in our range. Low, long and aerodynamically shaped, with a body designed to keep it planted rather than to look like any particular race car. As supplied it will pass 100mph on a suitable surface, and with taller gearing and a long enough run people take them well beyond 120mph.
It comes as a ready-to-run 8S AVC version with stability control, or as a roller if you want to choose your own motor, speed controller and radio. The roller is the usual choice for anyone chasing a personal best, because the electronics are where the speed comes from.
Traxxas XO-1
The XO-1 is the 1/7 supercar that started this category - a licensed-looking four-door shape with active stability management, capable of 100mph out of the box. More road car than race car in appearance, and a very different thing to drive from the Limitless.
What you need to run one
Be realistic. These cars need a long, smooth, empty stretch of tarmac - an airfield, a closed industrial road, or an organised speed-run event. They are not car park cars, and at these speeds a crash destroys the model and could hurt somebody. You will also need high-discharge LiPo packs and a charger to match.
Looking for a scale F1 car?
Genuine 1/10 Formula One chassis are a separate racing class, run on carpet and smooth astro rather than tarmac, and we do not stock them at present. If that is what you are after, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can source one. If it is speed you want, the Limitless is the car.
