RC batteries in UK stock: LiPo, NiMH, receiver and transmitter packs.
Whatever you fly, drive or sail, the battery is the part that decides how long you get to enjoy it. We stock LiPo packs from 1S to 7S, NiMH packs, receiver and transmitter batteries, and the AA and AAA cells your transmitter needs - from Gens Ace, Maniax, Radient, Spektrum and Traxxas.
Shop by type
- LiPo batteries - the standard for modern RC. High power-to-weight, available 2S, 3S, 4S and 6S. Needs a balance charger.
- NiMH batteries - heavier and less powerful, but far more forgiving. Common in ready-to-run cars and a sensible choice for beginners.
- Transmitter batteries - built for steady low current rather than high discharge. Not interchangeable with drive packs.
- AA, AAA and button cells - for transmitters, glow starters and lighting kits.
LiPo or NiMH?
LiPo gives you more power for less weight and holds its voltage better through a run, which is why almost everything performance-oriented uses it. NiMH is cheaper, tolerates rough handling, and does not need a balance charger - but it is heavy, and a NiMH car will feel slower than the same car on LiPo. If you are buying for a child or a first model, NiMH is the easier life. If you want performance, LiPo.
Charging and safety
LiPo packs must be charged on a balance charger, never on a plug-in NiMH charger. Charge on a hard surface, never unattended, store at around 3.8V per cell rather than fully charged, and retire any pack that swells or is punctured. See battery chargers, LiPo safety bags and connectors and adapters.
Check before you order
Three things catch people out: the connector (XT60, XT90, Deans, EC3, EC5, Traxxas iD - they are not compatible), the physical size of the battery bay, and whether your speed controller is rated for the cell count. Measure and check the manual first, or ask us.
