The Grand Apache is FTX's large-scale take on a Baja-style trophy truck, built around an 8S-capable brushless power system rather than the smaller 3S or 4S set-ups used on most RTR trucks. Finished in Red, it suits an experienced driver with the budget, space and spare LiPo packs to run it, rather than someone after an entry-level basher.

About the FTX Grand Apache

The Grand Apache is a 1/7 scale desert-style trophy truck built around a Hobbywing 160A 8S-rated brushless speed control and 4274 kv1250 motor, giving it far more headroom than FTX's smaller 1/10 Apache. It arrives 90% ready to run in Red, with the electronics, bodyshell and roll cage already fitted.

The chassis is a low centre-of-gravity aluminium design reinforced with a centre brace and CNC-machined 7075 T6 shock towers, centre differential case, motor mount and suspension mounts. Front and rear anti-roll bars, dual CNC aluminium shock absorbers at each corner, and inner chassis guards with wheel fenders are aimed at keeping the truck composed and protected when driven hard off-road, while a rear-mounted wheelie bar helps control the front end under hard acceleration.

An Etronix 25kg-rated steering servo and waterproof receiver box handle control, run from an Etronix 2.4GHz radio, though you'll need to supply 2 x 2S or 4S batteries and a charger before it's ready to drive — this is a big, powerful truck rather than a plug-and-play starter model. Scale extras like the LED roof bar and headlights, detailed driver interior and full-function spare tyres on the roll cage add to the look, but the main appeal is the straight-line speed and durability that come with 8S power.
