The Goosky Legend RS5 Electric Helicopter Kit redefines 3D flight with its powerful design, precision engineering, and unmatched agility. Built for serious pilots, this high-performance helicopter combines durability, sleek aesthetics, and advanced technology, delivering a superior flying experience that's perfect for mastering extreme manoeuvres.
Design
The Goosky Legend RS5 Electric Helicopter Kit stands out with its robust design, showcasing Goosky's renowned precision and craftsmanship. The helicopter features a thickened 12mm main shaft and a 6mm tail shaft, enhancing overall rigidity and stability during flight. The airframe is constructed with a cage structure, supported by thickened side panels, which provide exceptional durability and strength, crucial for handling the demands of 3D flight. Core metal components are made from 7075 aviation-grade aluminium alloy, crafted with high-precision milling techniques for durability without adding unnecessary weight. The RS5 also incorporates a streamlined, aesthetically pleasing canopy that not only enhances its visual appeal but also offers practical benefits, such as improved aerodynamics and easy access to internal components, thanks to its quick-release design. Additionally, the RS5 is versatile, accommodating both mini and standard servos, allowing for a wide range of customisation options.
Capabilities
In terms of capabilities, the RS5 is designed for high-performance 3D helicopter flying, with features that ensure both stability and agility. The oversized swashplate enhances cyclic pitch flexibility, allowing for smoother, more precise control in demanding manoeuvres. Its integrated 6mm tail shaft and hub ensure smooth tail rotor operation, minimising vibrations during high-speed rotations. The helicopter’s main rotor head, with its symmetrical feathering shaft teeter hinge, ensures balanced and stable flight performance, even under extreme conditions. High-speed, low-noise bearings across all rotating components guarantee smooth, reliable operation, while the lightweight landing gear is designed for easy maintenance, making the RS5 as practical as it is capable. The precisely calculated tail pitch control system, paired with weighted tail blade grips, provides increased accuracy in control with less effort, making it a perfect choice for experienced 3D pilots seeking high responsiveness and precision.
Updates & Improvements
The RS5 also introduces several key updates and improvements that make it a more refined and advanced option compared to previous models. The new integrated main motor counter-bearing bracket and one-piece main shaft alignment bracket offer increased precision and strength, improving the helicopter’s overall structural integrity. The tail servo system now features a double-threaded connection on the push rod, eliminating the need for glue and making disassembly and reassembly much easier. Another standout update is the quick-release canopy system, which allows for faster and more convenient battery swaps, enhancing the overall user experience. These improvements, combined with the lightweight yet sturdy materials used throughout the helicopter, ensure that the RS5 not only delivers top-tier performance but is also easier to maintain and fine-tune, making it a perfect choice for advanced 3D helicopter pilots looking for reliability and cutting-edge technology.
