BNF RC helicopters: assembled, just bind to your own transmitter.
BNF RC Helicopters
BNF stands for Bind-N-Fly. The helicopter arrives assembled with the motor, servos, speed controller, flybarless unit and receiver already fitted - everything except a transmitter. You bind it to a radio you already own and fly. It is the quickest route into the air if you have a radio, and the cheapest, because you are not paying for a transmitter you do not need.
BNF is not RTF - check this before ordering
This catches people out. RTF (ready to fly) includes a transmitter and you can fly it the day it arrives. BNF does not include one. If you do not already own a compatible radio, a BNF helicopter is unusable until you buy one.
Compatibility matters too. A BNF model has a receiver built for a particular radio protocol - Spektrum DSMX and FrSky are the common ones - and it will only bind to a transmitter using that protocol. Check the listing against your radio, or ask us before ordering. Getting this wrong is the single most common mistake with BNF.
What you still need
A compatible transmitter, a battery and a charger. Most BNF helicopters do not include a pack or charger, so check what is in the box.
Who BNF suits
Anyone already in the hobby with a radio, and anyone buying a second machine - there is no sense paying twice for a transmitter. It also means you fly every model on controls you already know, which matters more than people expect when you are learning.
