The SAB ilGoblin PRO 420 is an electric 420-class helicopter that runs on 6S. It is SAB's smallest ilGoblin and a natural choice if you want a compact 3D and sport machine that is cheaper to run than a 500 or 700. SAB was first to offer the Goblin 420 with a direct-drive motor, then moved to a lighter, more powerful belt-driven version. The ilGoblin PRO 420 builds on that belt-driven platform.
The styling comes from SAB's best-selling ilGoblin PRO 700 (SG760), with a carbon fibre canopy and boom in the ilGoblin PRO style. It uses a single-stage transmission. The micro cyclic servos sit on a quick-release mount. The tail servo is mounted at the front to help the centre of gravity and takes a mini or full-size servo. The blade grip arms are Zytel HTN resin, designed as a sacrificial part to protect the rest of the head in a crash. The tail uses SAB 72 mm blades and an aluminium tail side plate. Batteries slide in from the rear on a quick-release tray with an SAB quick connector, so the canopy stays on for battery changes.
With 420 mm blades the rotor disc is 935 mm, which gives this little helicopter real presence in the air for its size. It runs on modest 6S 2200 – 2700 mAh packs. This version comes in the yellow ilGoblin PRO 420 scheme.
