The RC8B4.1 Team Kit is Team Associated's next step on from the RC8B4, a 1/8 scale 4WD nitro off-road buggy sold as a kit rather than ready-to-run. It's built on the same chassis lineage as the 2022 IFMAR World Championship-winning RC8B4, so it's aimed at drivers racing at club level and above rather than casual bashers.

As a 4WD nitro buggy it needs a .21 class rear-exhaust engine and matching exhaust system (muffler, header or tuned pipe/spring) fitted by the builder, driving through an internal gear ratio of 3.38:1. Being a kit, every part of the drivetrain, suspension and chassis is assembled by hand, which gives an experienced racer full control over setup but means it isn't a car you can simply charge and drive.

Running it means adding a 2-3 channel 2.4GHz radio system, steering and throttle servos, a starter box, glow igniter and fuel bottle, and running 20-30% nitro fuel — plus 1/8 buggy tyres and wheels, since none of that is in the box. It's a car for racers who already run nitro off-road buggies and want a competition-proven chassis to build up themselves, not a first RC or an out-of-the-box basher.
