About the FTX Banzai Nitro

The Banzai Nitro is FTX's fuel-engined take on its long-running Banzai drift chassis, built to bring the sound and feel of a genuine 2-stroke engine to street and car-park drifting. It arrives 95% ready to run, with the pull-start engine, radio gear and Blue bodywork already fitted, leaving only fuel, a glow igniter and batteries to add before the first run.

Underneath, it shares its aluminium main chassis with FTX's nitro Carnage, using a centrally mounted engine and 4WD shaft drive rather than belts, which keeps the drivetrain straightforward to maintain. Metal crown, pinion and bevel differential gears front and rear are built to cope with the shock loads of drifting, and big-bore, oil-filled shocks with adjustable droop, camber, toe-in and wheelbase let you dial in how the car slides.

Power comes from a FORCE .18 pull-start nitro engine feeding a composite 2-piece tuned pipe through a 3-shoe clutch, giving noticeably more punch and top speed than an equivalent brushed drift car, at the cost of running a fuel engine that needs starting equipment, glow plugs and regular cleaning. It suits a driver who wants the extra involvement of nitro power and somewhere to run and refuel it, rather than someone after a simple first RC car.
