The FTX Zorro is a 1/10 scale 4WD nitro-powered trophy truck, supplied ready to run and finished in Orange with a semi-scale bodyshell and roll cage. It suits drivers who already have some nitro experience, or are willing to learn engine tuning and starting, rather than someone wanting to switch a battery and go. Running one costs more in fuel and maintenance than an electric truck, but rewards that effort with longer run times and the noise and smell that come with a real engine.

About the FTX Zorro Nitro Trophy Truck

The Zorro is built around a FORCE .18 pull-start nitro engine rather than an electric motor, driving all four wheels through a shaft-driven 4WD system with front and rear geared differentials. A 3-shoe clutch and composite 2-piece tuned pipe are fitted as standard, and it's supplied as a genuinely ready-to-run package rather than a kit.

The chassis is a blue anodised aluminium plate, and suspension is handled by big-bore, oil-filled, fully adjustable shock absorbers, with front and rear tubular bumpers and skid plates to protect the underside during bashing. Waterproof 3kg servos handle both steering and throttle, controlled through an Etronix 2.4GHz 3-channel radio system.

Because it runs on nitro fuel rather than a battery, the Zorro needs a glow starter, fuel and a fuel bottle to run at all, and it takes more looking after than an electric truck: mixing fuel, starting the engine and general maintenance are all part of ownership. In return it offers long run times without waiting for a battery to charge, and the semi-scale Trophy Truck bodyshell with internal roll cage and driver interior give it a convincing look for bashing sessions.
